Booking & What to Expect

Introductory Consultation

At Wild Flower & Willows, your journey begins with a warm and welcoming introductory consultation. This 20–30 minute conversation (offered in person or online) is designed to gently introduce you to the therapeutic process and ensure it feels like the right fit for you or your child.

During this time, we’ll:

  • Explore your needs, hopes, and goals for therapy.

  • Answer any questions you may have about creative arts therapy.

  • Introduce the space and approach, so you know what to expect.

  • Discuss important topics like confidentiality, consent, and safety.

  • Consider if art therapy aligns with your current challenges or wellbeing journey.

This session is not a full assessment but a space for connection, reflection, and mutual understanding. It also gives you the opportunity to get a feel for how we work, without pressure or obligation.

Initial Assessment & Planning

Your first full session includes a comprehensive clinical assessment. This allows us to gently explore your goals, needs, and preferred ways of working. Using a combination of creative modalities and psychotherapy-informed approaches, I’ll develop an individualised treatment plan tailored to support emotional wellbeing, regulation, communication, and growth.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Therapy is most effective when it's consistent and given time to unfold. We recommend a minimum of 10 sessions to experience meaningful outcomes, though some clients engage longer for deeper therapeutic work. We review your progress regularly, and sessions are paced in a way that feels safe and manageable.

What’s Included in Your Sessions

Each session includes:

  • All creative materials provided in a calm, sensory-considered environment.

  • 1:1 therapeutic support from a registered Clinical Arts Therapist.

  • Personalised treatment and creative exploration.

  • Secure and ethical session notes and progress documentation.

  • Optional parent or caregiver check-ins (for child clients).

Clinical Standards

As a registered therapist, I maintain clinical supervision and adhere to the ethical guidelines of professional arts therapy practice in Aotearoa New Zealand. This ensures your therapy remains safe, informed, and held with care.

Session Fees & Payment

Fees are discussed during your introductory consultation. Payment plans or external funding (where applicable) can be arranged. I am happy to support clients in navigating funding through disability or wellbeing services if eligible.

Cancellation Policy

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows me to offer the space to someone else who may be waiting.

  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a 50% session fee unless in the case of emergency or illness.

  • No-shows or missed appointments without notice will be charged the full session fee.

I understand that life is unpredictable. If you or your child are unwell or something urgent arises, please get in touch as soon as possible. I’ll always do my best to accommodate changes with compassion and fairness.

Thank you for respecting this policy and the time we hold for your therapeutic care.

Waitlist Information

If sessions are fully booked, you’re welcome to join the waitlist. I’ll be in touch as soon as a space becomes available. There’s no obligation, it just means you’re next in line. Feel free to check in at any time about your place on the list.

Who I Support

I work with children, young people, and adults experiencing a range of psychological and developmental challenges, including:

  • Emotional & mood difficulties – anxiety, low mood, worry, depression.

  • Social & interpersonal issues – bullying, social withdrawal, relationship stress.

  • Developmental differences – autism, ADHD, sensory processing needs, learning differences.

  • Trauma & grief – adjusting to loss, overwhelming experiences, attachment struggles.
